Tour itinerary
Day 1 Lisbon (Portugal)
Let’s embark on an incredible journey together here in the captivating city of Lisbon! This Gothic-style capital is brimming with enchanting culture and electrifying energy. To start off our voyage, we’ll gather at the hotel before sharing a delightful dinner amid an exciting Fado performance. Bon voyage!

Day 2 Lisbon – Sintra – Lisbon
Before exploring the captivating town of Sintra, we’ll start by visiting a tile painting atelier. Here you can have a go at making your own unique souvenir. Then it’s time to explore the beautiful Sintra National Palace – an exquisite royal palace and UNESCO World Heritage site. Following the tour, you’ll be given some free time to explore and admire before heading back to Lisbon in the afternoon.

Day 3 Lisbon – Óbidos and Nazaré – Alvados
Today, we’ll start our journey to the beautiful village of Óbidos where we will step back into history and explore its cobblestoned streets. After that, we’ll head off to Nazaré – a picturesque fishing town where you can spend your free time leisurely wandering around. Finally, Alvados awaits us with an exciting Portuguese cooking class followed by a delectable dinner. Are you prepared for this unique experience?

Day 4 Alvados – Tomar – Alvados
Continuing our tour, we will make our way to Tomar, a treasure trove of historical significance designated as a World Heritage site. Home to the Convent of Christ and often referred to as the Knights Templar City, there will be plenty of time for exploration and discovery. Later on we will visit an olive oil producer, learning about their production methods and getting the opportunity to sample some of it! When we return to Alvados in the evening, you are free to take advantage of hotel facilities or stroll along one of the nearby walking trails.

Day 5 Alvados – Coimbra – Viseu
A journey to Viseu from Coimbra is sure to be a most memorable experience. Our first stop, the University of Coimbra and its illustrious Joanina Library offer breathtaking views over the River Mondego and allow us to wander through centuries old grounds. Free time in Coimbra allows us the chance to explore its picturesque medieval centre before we move on to Viseu. Here, in the home of delicious buttery cheese, we will have an exclusive look into how it is made from a local cheesemaker and even sample some for ourselves! Once our day of learning has finished, let’s use our evening at leisure to further explore this wonderful city!

Day 6 Viseu – Lamego, Pinhão and Peso Da Régua – Douro Valley
Kicking off the day, we’ll make our way to Lamego -a quaint town situated in the Douro Valley. We’ll get a chance to check out the grand Baroque staircase and visit an incredible 18th-century Shrine of Our Lady of Remedies. Afterwards, feel free to explore at your own pace. Then it’s on to Pinhão where you can relax on a cruise downriver aboard a traditional rabelo boat. Drink in the amazing vistas as you leisurely drift along towards Peso da Régua and cap off the night with a scrumptious dinner back at our hotel!

Day 7 Douro Valley
As we take in our surroundings here in Douro Valley, it’s clear to see why this picturesque and vineyard-filled landscape provides a sublime setting for our day off. Our hotel offers a great pool to help us unwind or alternatively, we can explore with a leisurely hike. Later on we reconvene for dinner, but not before having sampled some of those mouthwatering wines that have made this area famous.

Day 8 Douro Valley – Amarante and Penafiel – Braga
Following breakfast, our day will begin with a visit to beautiful Amarante. Highlighted by its iconic bridge and 16th-century church, we’ll take the time to appreciate the grandeur of São Gonçalo Church before discovering more of the town. Later on, our journey will continue to Penafiel – home of the region’s renowned green wine. Here we’ll have the chance to sample it for ourselves and learn about how it is made. After an enjoyable afternoon, an evening of leisure awaits us once we get to Braga.

Day 9 Braga – Guimarães – Braga
To begin the day, our destination is Guimarães – home to a castle, the Palace of the Dukes of Braganza and an old city centre. We’ll be accompanied by a guide for a walking tour through all these historical sites before having some time afterwards to explore on our own. Remember to make sure that you visit the Bom Jesus Sanctuary – it’s one of Portugal’s most renowned attractions! Finally, tonight we will come together for dinner and be treated with traditional folk entertainment as our last stop on the journey.

Day 10 Braga – Porto
After a wonderful journey, we finally arrive in Porto where we’ll explore some of the city’s most iconic spots. On an orientation tour, we will visit places such as the Clérigos Tower, Aliados Avenue, the historical Ribeira district and finish off with a visit to the majestic cathedral.
