Tour itinerary

Day 1 Lisbon
After clearing customs at the Lisbon Airport, you will be welcomed by our friendly local representatives and chauffeured to your hotel in the city. Once checked-in, feel free to set out and explore all that Portugal’s vibrant capital has to offer! The rest of the day is yours for adventure.

Day 2 Lisbon – Sintra – Cascais – Estoril – Lisbon
Beginning with a delicious meal at the hotel, your journey will lead you down the scenic roadway boasting ancient manor houses and quaint towns. You’ll eventually reach Cabo da Roca – the westernmost point of Europe – and then Sintra, a centuries-old palace that used to be favored by royalty in the eighteenth century. From afar, you can make out Quinta da Regaleira palace; its distinctive blend of Gothic, Renaissance, and Manueline decor earned it recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Breakfast to start your day in the picturesque town of Sintra. Afterward, explore the mysterious Devil’s Mouth cave and wander along the coast at Guincho Beach. The next stop is Cascais, a fishing village with plenty of charm. On your way back to Lisbon, don’t miss Estoril, a popular spa town that attracted nobility during World War II when fleeing from Nazi persecution. End your day in Lisbon with an evening at leisure.

Day 3 Lisbon – Alcobaça – Batalha – Nazaré – Óbidos – Lisbon
In and around Batalha
Leaving from Lisbon, your first port of call is Alcobaça, the site of the oldest monastery in town. Here you will find the tombs of Portugal’s most renowned lovers and the Monastery of Batalha, a perfect example showcasing Late Flamboyant Gothic architecture from 14th-century Portugal. By mid-day you will reach Nazaré, an area renowned for its vibrant fishing culture and expansive semi-circular beach where legendary surfing waves have been known to break world records. After your meal (not included), you will be taken to the historic city of Óbidos. This medieval town is ideal for couples who desire a romantic escape, featuring an impressive castle and traditional handicraft stores located within its walls, a complex network of passageways, as well as white-washed homes – all easily accessible via strolling. You will have the opportunity to return to Lisbon in the evening with a free night on your hands. (Breakfast)

Day 4 Lisbon – Porto
Beginning your day with a hearty breakfast, you are set to take part in a half-day guided city tour of Lisbon. Locals favour the colourful streetcars, which rumble throughout the alleys and staircases of the old town. The historic Alfama district will be first on your tour list, after which you will head towards Belém for visits to Jerónimos Monastery, Tower of Belém and Monument of Discoveries. After lunchtime later in the day you will make your way to Porto – northern capital of Portugal – situated along the banks of the River Douro where you can spend some leisurely time exploring this beautiful city. Day 5 Porto
At 9 o’clock in the morning, you will have an opportunity to take a guided tour of this mystifying city. Many tourists that have visited before express that the atmosphere here varies depending on place, light and time of day – something which can be difficult to put into words.

Beginning your experience in the heart of the city, you and your guide will explore various landmarks. You will take in a stunning panorama from the Cathedral before wandering through the colorful chaos of Ribeira district full of local culture. Afterward, you will descend into a Porto Wine Cellar to sample its flavors. Your sightseeing will continue with visits to the Stock Exchange building as well as Rua das Flores, stopping at São Bento train station with its iconic azulejos panels depicting Portuguese history. The tour culminates at Four Lions fountain facing the university which is home to picturesque churches dressed in azulejos and one of the world’s most breathtaking bookstores, Livraria Lello built 1881 . Breakfast included enjoy free time for lunch or further exploration.

Day 6 Porto – Douro Valley – Porto
From the stunning coastal scenery of Porto, to the industrial heritage inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, experience an unforgettable journey through this gorgeous region. Soak in the glorious microclimate of Douro Vinhateiro and its abundant supplies of olives, almonds and grapes. Trek down the humbling Douro river on a one-hour traditional rabelo boat tour before heading over to Quinta da Avessada for an exquisite wine tasting session and scrumptious lunch.

Day 7 Porto – Fatima – Tomar – Lisbon
Start the morning off with a long drive southward to Fatima, which has become an internationally renowned destination of faith since 1917 when the Virgin Mary appeared to three shepherdesses. Millions of pilgrims visit each year and it is known as the “Altar of Peace”. Afterwards, you will head towards Tomar and Fatima for a full day excursion (8 hours). This UNESCO protected area houses two impressive landmarks—the Templar castle (XII) and monastery of Order of Christ. Umberto Eco proclaimed that “it is here where you can imagine the most emblematic castles”. You can take in the Manuelino architecture while marveling at its ex-libris Capitol Hall window, a breathtakingly stunning sight.
Free time for lunch and rest of the day at leisure to continue your exploration of Lisbon at your own pace. (Breakfast)

Day 8 Lisbon – Albufeira
In and around Albufeira
Following a delicious breakfast, you will be met in the lobby of your hotel and taken to the bus station for departure towards Albufeira. Upon arriving in Albufeira, you will then transfer to your hotel where the rest of the day is yours to enjoy as you wish – either relax or begin your exploration of this beautiful resort town.

Day 9-10 Albufeira
All breakfasts at the hotel. 3 full days to explore the gorgeous coastal region of the Algarve. Enjoy the long golden sandy beaches or opt for an optional tour at destination ($). (Breakfasts)

Full day Algarve boat tour ($) including lunch and dinghy ride inside the caves:
Experience an extraordinary boat tour aboard a Catamaran, departing from Marina Vilamoura. Cruise along the Barlavento coast up to Benagil Caves and get mesmerized by the stunning Algarve coastline for more than 60 km/40 miles, showcased by breathtaking beaches, traditional fishing communities, majestic cliff edges and some of Europe’s largest caves. Look out for dolphins that swim these waters every now and then – you may even receive a visit from them! Enjoy a glass bottom boat ride at Benagil Cave as well as have some time for swimming. Don’t forget to bring your towel and sunscreen! Lunch is included onboard with BBQ, chips, salads, bread etc., plus white wine, orange juice water & fruit.

Day 11 Albufeira – Lisbon
Start your day off right with a hearty breakfast at the hotel before heading to the bus station for departure to Lisbon. On arrival in the city, you will transfer to your hotel and can then choose whether you want relaxation or continued exploration of Lisbon. (Breakfast)

Day 12 Lisbon
Greeting you in the lobby of your hotel, breakfast behind you, our local representatives will take you to the airport.
