Day 3 Lisbon – Nazaré – Fátima – Braga
Meeting point at the hotel lobby – 09h00 am.
Beginning an amazing journey on Portugal’s “Silver Coast”, a person can start in the quaint village of Nazaré. This place earned its name from a monk bringing a figure of the Virgin Mary from Nazareth to town during the 4th century. For stunning views of the region, visitors take the short ride on the funicular that climbs up 110m (360ft) to Sitio high above Nazaré. From there, one can survey all around and appreciate sights such as Nossa Senhora da Nazare Church with its two Baroque belfries and 18th-century ceramic tiles showing Biblical stories.
Nazaré, Portugal is well known for its culture and the importance placed on modesty. Women of the coastal town opt to wear skirts with seven petticoats to keep them warm from the cold sea wind while staying covered up. In 2011, Nazaré’s landscape was forever altered by surfer Garret McNamara who was towed into a 78-foot monster swell off the coast and created a world record. Since then, each winter some of the best surfers flock to Portugal in search of waves just like McNamara’s behemoth!
Nazaré, Portugal’s most popular fishing village, is renowned for its beach and vibrant culture. Our next stop is the pilgrimage town of Fatima. Here we pay our respects at the Chapel of Apparitions, a place that has held religious significance since 1917. On May 13th three children were tending to their sheep when an intense light filled the area – two more flashes followed from which emerged a Lady carrying a white rosary. She told them it was important to pray and asked them to repeat this ritual for five consecutive months on the thirteenth day at the same hour. It is believed that during these visits The Virgin Mary divulged her Three Secrets of Fatima to those young shepherds.
The Sanctuary of Fatima is a pilgrimage place, motivated by Our Lady’s apparitions to the three shepherds.
Accommodation: 4 stars hotel. Overnight in Braga.
Meals: Breakfast.

Day 4 Porto
Meeting point at the hotel lobby – 09h00 am. The tour starts with a pleasant walking tour at the UNESCO World Heritage Historical Center. Starting with the impressive settlement of over 20.000 blue tiles in São Bento Train Station.
We will begin our journey with the renowned 12th century Porto’s Cathedral, an insight into the city’s and Portugal’s history. After that we will explore the medieval district, finishing on Rua das Flores; a commercial street filled with vibrant art and flowers. The gorgeous City Hall is a must see as well as Clérigos Tower and its noble quarter.
Making our way to lunch in one of the liveliest places in town, you’ll be able to sample local gastronomy. Afterward, you can venture to a traditional Wine Cellar “Cave” for a guided visit and taste of Port Wine (2 great wines), this complex fortified wine known worldwide.
Accommodation: 4 stars hotel. Overnight in Braga.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Port Wine Tasting.

Day 5 Douro Valley
Douro Valley – Full-Day
The Meeting point will be at the hotel lobby – 08h30 am.

Take in the breathtaking beauty of Douro Valley as you’re driven past its remarkable landscapes. Continuing your adventure, you’ll head towards Porto’s Cathedral which dates back to 12th century and allows you insight into city’s compelling history. Next up is Rua das Flores – a commercial street brimming with vibrant artisans, flowers, and street performers. You will also explore majestic City Hall and Clérigos Tower along with its noble quarter before finally settling for lunch in an eatery serving authentic Portugese gastronomy. Day 6 Braga
Meeting point at the hotel lobby – 09h00 am.
Once breakfast had been consumed, we gathered for a quick briefing about the Bom Jesus do Monte Shrine. Our ascent of the mount would be via its funicular – thought to be the world’s oldest in service and powered by a water balance system. Each cabin on-board contained a tank of water which was full at the top level but emptied at the bottom, thus allowing for movement thanks to its passenger-dependent weight difference. As far as our descent was concerned, this would take place along footpaths before heading to visit both the Cathedral and downtown area. Duration: 1/2 day.
Accommodation: 4 stars hotel. Overnight in Braga.
Meals: Breakfast.

Day 7 Oporto Airport (OPO)
End of the program. There are no activities planned for this day. Lunch and dinner are not included.
Meals: Breakfast.
