Tour itinerary

Day 1 Lisbon (Portugal)
Strutting through the streets of an electric city, a night in Lisbon left to explore. Unload your belongings at the hotel and get ready for a journey filled with culture, delicious food, and hills of energy. Step back into Portuguese heritage with dinner included alongside a traditional fado show; born in the 19th century, it’s an experience not to be forgotten. As you sit back and take it all in–the sights, sounds, flavors–you realize you truly are here.

Day 2 Lisbon
Take advantage of the day to do something completely out of your norm. Start with a ride on the iconic yellow 28 tram and make a stop in Alfama, Lisbon’s oldest neighbourhood. Step back in time as you journey through its winding medieval maze and up to São Jorge Castle for an insight into Moorish culture. Take a stroll around Mouraria, marvelling at its vibrant street art before indulging in some mouth-watering pastéis de nata (custard tarts) and soaking up boho vibes at the Botanical Gardens. Later on, dinner beckons – head to Time Out Market where you are sure to find something delicious! Finally unwind with a glass of wine on one of Bairro Alto’s cosy rooftop bars – this is exactly why you travelled here.

Day 3 Lisbon – Sintra – Porto
Sintra is the perfect place to start our adventure. This fairytale town has been added to the UNESCO World Heritage list and you’ll have plenty of time to explore its beauty, including Castle of the Moors and Pena Palace (remember—book your tickets ahead!). Don’t forget to drop into Fábrica das Verdadeiras Queijadas da Sapa for a delicious treat—they’ve been serving their famous queijadas since 1756! Finally, we’ll head off to Porto where you can get lost in this mesmerizing city with cobbled streets and stunning blue-tiled buildings. Enjoy your free evening!

Day 4 Porto
Ready for an exploration? Let’s lace up those Nikes and explore the historic streets, stately alleyways, and postcard-perfect port of Porto. Discover the landmarks like Porto Cathedral, Palácio da Bolsa, San Francisco Church, and dip into a display of hand-painted tiles at San Bento Station. What then? An optional excursion on the Douro River is recommended or you can make your way to Matosinhos Beach to catch some European rays. Later in the day, give your palate a treat with a wine tasting experience followed by breathtaking views from one of the city’s rooftop bars – don’t forget to try white port with tonic!

Day 5 Porto – Madrid (Spain)
Our adventure to Madrid begins, a city that has attracted and inspired countless creative minds such as Picasso, Dalí, Miró and more. Our enthusiastic Trip Leader will guide us on an informative tour of the Spanish capital – taking us past landmarks like the Royal Palace, Temple of Debod, Plaza Mayor and Mercado de San Miguel. Once our sightseeing is done we’ll explore the vibrant Lavapiés district for some local eats before making our way to trendy Chueca where we can let go and dance the night away.

Day 6 Madrid
Soak up Madrid’s captivating royal history and tasty culture with a free day. Begin by visiting the Royal Palace, residence of one of Europe’s oldest monarchies, before taking in the grandeur of Plaza Mayor. Take some time to admire the exquisite artwork at Museo del Prado (the city’s version of the Louvre), followed by breathtaking views from Palacio de Cibeles. Sink your teeth into some churros as a snack at El Retiro Park then, later on in the evening, dig into an optional tapas experience or seek out a buzzing bistro dinner in Malasaña district – known for its contemporary flair and fascinating past. Feel like indulging again? Why not grab another round of chocolate-covered churros!

Day 7 Madrid – Segovia – San Sebastián
Our next destination is the stunning coastal city of San Sebastián. Before we get there, let’s take a detour to the solemn Valley of the Fallen – an homage to those who perished during the Spanish Civil War. Our journey also includes a stop at Segovia, where we can marvel at its UNESCO-recognised Aqueduct, majestic Cathedral and dreamy Alcázar de Segovia castle. All this sightseeing will make for hungry tummies – lunch today is on us! Finally, after another comfortable coach ride, it’s time to check out the buzz of San Seb.

Day 8 San Sebastián
Leave the snooze button alone and get ready to explore this Basque hotspot. Start with an orientation walk led by DW, our expert Trip Leader who knows all the best places for pintxos. After that, it’s up to you! Hang out on La Concha beach with fellow beachgoers or check out one of the oldest theme parks in the world. Want a better view? Take a cold beer up Urgull Hill where you can witness fantastic sights across the bay. Later, make sure you don your comfiest pants because whether you’re planning to visit every pintxos bar in Old Town or heading straight for Bar Borda Berri for their slow-roasted beef (it’s mouthwateringly delicious!), you’ll need lots of room!

Day 9 San Sebastián – Zaragoza – Barcelona
This is our final day, so let’s make the most of it. We’ll begin by visiting one of Spain’s most overlooked cities – Zaragoza! Stunning architecture awaits, particularly at the Basílica de Nuestra Señora del Pilar and its ancient Roman walls. After that, take a drive around Barcelona to top off your experience before meeting up with your friends for dinner. Raise a glass of sangria and toast to this memorable journey you’ve had!

Day 10 Barcelona
