Day 1 Overnight Flight

Day 2 Cascais, Portugal – Tour Begins
Welcome to the Portuguese Riviera, your destination for a delightful getaway. Adorned with magnificent mansions throughout Cascais and Monte Estoril, these towns serve as reminders of its long standing history as an oasis for exiled nobility from Europe. Get ready to kick off your vacation with a group welcome dinner tonight!
Day 3 Cascais – Lisbon – Cascais
Take the trip of a lifetime and uncover Lisbon’s renowned sights on an awe-inspiring city tour. Begin at Belém, where you will be captivated by the exquisite Belém Tower and Monument to the Discoveries (both UNESCO World Heritage Sites). Then head to Jerónimos Monastery, constructed in the 16th Century and renowned for its Portuguese Gothic style – another UNESCO listed marvel. In Cascais, wander through charming cobblestone streets past seaside cafés and stores full of locally crafted ceramics, laces, and other handmade items. Enjoy free time before joining an optional experience that offers authentic Portugese cuisine with wine while talented performers present traditional Fado music – listed as a World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.
Day 4 Cascais – Obidos – Sintra – Cascais
A visit to the spectacular city of Obidos awaits, with its charming houses huddled within old-world walls. Afterwards, take a trip to Sintra (UNESCO), a stunning location that served as summer home for Portuguese royalty over many centuries. Once here, you have two options – either wander through the narrow streets and soak up the cork products and pastries; or visit the National Palace of Sintra for a peek at its thousand year history. On your way back to Lisbon, marvel at Cabo da Roca – continental Europe’s westernmost point.
Day 5 Lisbon – Evora
Your journey through Portugal’s breathtaking countryside begins with a visit to a family-run cork factory. Here, you’ll learn why cork is so important to the Portuguese economy and why the country is the premier producer of this versatile product in the world. Your journey then brings you to Evora – affectionately nicknamed ‘the Museum City of Portugal.’ In addition to its 2nd century Roman Temple of Diana, this Medieval walled city houses an intriguing 16th century Chapel of Bones.
Day 6 Evora – Monsaraz – Lagos
Experience an unforgettable escape to the stunning coasts of Portugal’s Algarve. Begin your adventure in Monsaraz, admiring the breathtaking vistas before you. Next, take a winery tour and indulge in some local Alentejo wines with a light lunch. Then, head to Lagos — a port city renowned for its Moorish and Renaissance influences as well as towering seaside cliffs. This historic resort town was also the starting point for many celebrated explorations throughout history.
Day 7 Lagos – Faro – Tavira – Lagos
Faro, the capital of the Algarve, offers tourists a chance to explore historical sites and experience delicious local cuisine. Visit the city’s 9th-century walls and then join a local chef for a cooking demonstration where they will highlight regional gastronomy. Enjoy an unforgettable tasting menu featuring iconic dishes and local liquors. Today’s journey to Algarve begins with you, ready to explore what makes this stunning region so renowned. Dotted across hillside and coast are vibrant displays of nature: geraniums, camellias and oleanders bloom alongside fig, orange and almond trees; bright fishing boats drift in azure waters. Day 9 Lagos – Setubal – Lisbon
On the way to Lisbon, consider taking a detour to Setubal, a vibrant city that is often overlooked in southern Europe.
