Tour itinerary

Day 1 Lisbon
When you touch down at the airport in Lisbon, you’ll be met by our friendly representatives who will transfer you to your hotel. After that, why not spend your first day in Portugal’s gorgeous capital city discovering its many secrets? You have the rest of the day free for sightseeing and exploration!

Day 2 Lisbon – Sintra – Cascais – Estoril – Lisbon
Starting your morning with a hearty hotel-served meal, you will begin your journey to explore the vestiges of Portuguese aristocracy and picturesque countryside. Heading towards Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of Europe, and Sintra – a medieval royal residence beloved by nobles in the 18th century – you will soon glimpse Quinta da Regaleira palace from afar. Recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO for its captivating and intricate blend of Gothic, Renaissance, and Manueline styles, it’s certainly worth an afternoon visit! During lunchtime in Sintra free time is yours to do with what you please. Then proceed on your tour to Devil’s Mouth cave and Guincho Beach followed by a relaxing stroll through Cascais’ fishing village.

Day 3 Lisbon – Alcobaça – Batalha – Nazaré – Óbidos – Lisbon
In and around Batalha
Your journey will begin in the capital city of Lisbon, before departing for Alcobaça and its renowned Monastery. Dating back centuries, it is home to the tombs of two of Portugal’s most famous lovers. Not far away is Batalha Monastery – a unique example of late Flamboyant Gothic architecture that was constructed during the 14th century.
Next on the itinerary is Nazaré; with its vibrant fishing customs and characteristic half-moon beach, here you can observe some of the world’s biggest beach-breaking waves. Lunchtime follows (not included) then you will head to Óbidos – a classic medieval town with iconic white houses, handicraft shops within its walls and a castle waiting to be explored that make it an ideal romantic destination close to Lisbon. An evening free in Lisbon awaits upon return after breakfast earlier in the day.

Day 4 Lisbon – Porto
Right after breakfast, you’ll venture out on a half day guided tour of Lisbon. Meander through cobblestone alleys and up and down winding staircases to get a feel for the city’s local life. Witness locals going about their daily routine aboard colorful streetcars that are the favorite form of transportation in this historic district. The exploration will then head toward Belém where there are two must-see attractions: Jerónimos Monastery, which served as final resting place to countless famous Portuguese characters, and Tower of Belém located at the entrance of the city from the sea since16th century. Not forgetting Monumento dos Descobrimentos, built to honor Portugal’s pioneering navigators’ courage! Upon lunch time you’ll depart for Porto where you can spend remaining days leisurely discovering this picturesque hillside city situated at River Douro’s mouth.(Breakfast)

Day 5 Porto
At 9 in the morning, you will be escorted by your guide for a half day sightseeing tour of the city. Many people find it rather inexplicable how this captivating destination changes with every new perspective. The initial stop will be made at the cathedral where you can admire the spectacular view of Douro River along with its bridges and neighbouring houses. Subsequently, there is a chance to explore charming streets of Ribeira Quarter packed with culture and heritage. Afterwards, a visit to Porto Wine Cellars is arranged to sample delectable local wines. As you move forward towards Stock Exchange building and Rua das Flores street, São Bento train station awaits you–featuring walls adorned with stunning azulejos tiles that narrate Portugal’s history famously. The tour will end at the Four Lions fountain, facing the university, which is surrounded by charming churches, some covered in azulejos, and one of the world’s most beautiful bookstores built in 1881, Livraria Lello. Lunch free and rest of the afternoon at leisure to continue your exploration. (Breakfast)

Day 6 Porto – Douro Valley – Porto
Setting off from the stunning city of Porto, you will be surrounded by beauty both natural and built. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the location features an industrial heritage centric to Porto’s culture, as well as the microclimate created for olives, almonds and grapes in the Douro Vinhateiro. You can expect a one-hour traditional boat tour on this breathtaking stretch of the Douro River before visiting Quinta da Avessada and indulging in their wine tasting and lunch.

Day 7 Porto – Fatima – Tomar – Lisbon
Your journey starts with a drive southward to Fatima, which has been venerated by believers since the Mother of God appeared there in 1917. Now commonly known as the “Altar of Peace”, it draws 5 million pilgrims every year from around the world. After that, we will take you to Tomar and Fatima for an 8-hour tour of these UNESCO heritage sites. As Umberto Eco said about Tomar: “Imagine the most emblematic of castles – such can be found here!”. During your visit, you will witness the grandness of a Templar castle (XII), and explore the Manuelino style showcased in Capitel Hall’s window at Monastery Order of Christ – both buildings having been built over several centuries.
Free time for lunch and rest of the day at leisure to continue your exploration of Lisbon at your own pace. (Breakfast)

Day 8 Lisbon
After breakfast, greeting in the lobby of your hotel by our local representatives and transfer from the hotel to the airport. (Breakfast)
