Tour itinerary
Day 1 PORTO ARRIVAL
Greetings to Porto! Upon your arrival to the airport, there will be a driver waiting for you who will transfer you to the HF Ipanema or similar accommodation. Make the most of your first day in town and experience it however you like. Enjoy your stay!
Day 2 PORTO HIGHLIGHTS & CRUISE
Take the chance to see Porto in all its beauty with a full-day exploration of this captivating UNESCO-listed destination. Your journey begins by journeying through the Old Town, and marvelling at the historically significant World Heritage Site. You’ll have plenty of opportunity to soak up the local culture while visiting places rich with tradition. The day ends as you embark on a peaceful boat ride beneath Porto’s iconic six bridges. Accommodation for the night can be found at HF Ipanema, Porto or similar, and breakfast is included.
Day 3 OPTIONAL: MEDIEVAL GEMS: BRAGA & GUIMARÃES
Why not take the time to explore Porto at your leisure? We also offer a chance to book a full-day tour around the medieval marvels of Minho Regio. Braga and Guimarães are two cities steeped in history, revealing captivating stories that you won’t want to miss. Breakfast is included in this tour and after all the exploring, accommodation will be provided at HF Ipanema or similar nearby.
Day 4 DOURO VALLEY
Embark on an unforgettable journey through the Douro Region, a World Heritage-listed spot celebrated for its port wine production. Your private driver-guide will take you to two award-winning wine estates located in the valley where you can savor some of their renowned vintage. Later on, marvel at the grandeur of nature as you cruise down Douro River with stunning views surrounding you.
Day 5 COIMBRA
Begin your journey in Coimbra, an enchanting city that is home to a renowned university and several UNESCO sites. Upon arrival, embark on a guided tour of the area to learn all about its heritage and culture. After the tour, spend the remainder of your day wandering around uncovering the wonders of Coimbra for yourself. Your hotel will be Vila Gale or similar with meals included in this delightful experience.
Day 6 OBIDOS & TOMAR
Begin your day with breakfast before embarking on a journey from Coimbra to Lisbon. On the way, take a break in two beautiful towns: Óbidos and Tomar. Step back in time as you tour the fortified walls of Óbidos while admiring Gothic, Renaissance and baroque churches. Visit Tomar – one of central Portugal’s most charming towns which was once home to the powerful Order of Knights Templar. Don’t forget to marvel at its historical cultural wealth during your stay. Later, settle in at the luxurious Hotel Britania for the night or similar accommodation in Lisbon.
Day 7 LISBON HIGHLIGHTS
Visit the wondrous city of Lisbon and explore its many emblematic monuments and districts on a half-day small-group tour. At the meeting point, you will be met by your experienced guide who will take you to explore charming neighborhoods like Belém and Alfama. Admire some of the highlights of the city including historic landmarks such as the Belém Tower and Jerónimos Monastery with its church, both listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites. Meals: B. Accommodation is available at Hotel Britania or similar standard upon request.
Day 8 SINTRA & CASCAIS
Discover Portugal’s diverse landscape and architecture with an informative guided tour of Sintra and Cascais, departing from the center of Lisbon. Set off with your guide to explore the lush Sintra Natural Park, home to Pena National Palace. Then drive along the Atlantic Coast to visit the charming resort town of Cascais, known for its stunning sandy beaches and shorelines. Enjoy a provided breakfast during your trip before being dropped off at your chosen accommodation in Lisbon – Hotel Britania or similar.
Day 9 LISBON AT LEISURE
Discover Lisbon, the exquisite Portuguese capital, on your own terms. Let us know what attractions you’d like to see and we’ll make all necessary arrangements for optional excursions. Mealtimes: Breakfast. Stay in the Hotel Britania or a comparable accommodation in Lisbon.
Day 10 LISBON DEPARTURE
Breakfast at the hotel, meet your driver and transfer to the airport. Meals: B
