Itinerary
Day 1 PORTO ARRIVAL
After you land at the airport in Porto, make your way to your accommodation at the HF Ipanema, Porto, or similar. Spend your first day taking it easy and exploring this UNESCO World Heritage Site on your own. Enjoy strolling around and admiring the historic monuments scattered throughout the capital of the north. For an even deeper dive into history and culture, visit Sintra, Cascais, or Estoril in Lisbon’s surroundings area. Don’t forget to sample some of the exquisite regional wines while you’re here!
Day 2 PORTO HIGHLIGHTS & CRUISE
Take in the UNESCO-listed city of Porto on an excursion through northern Portugal. See all the landmarks, such as the Old Town which is a World Heritage Site. Immerse yourself in this city’s vibrant culture and delve into its storied customs. To end your journey, take a boat ride beneath Porto’s legendary six bridges. As far as meals go, Breakfast is included and you will be accommodated at HF Ipanema or similar near Porto.
Day 3 DOURO VALLEY
Make the most of your day in Douro with a small-group tour exploring this World Heritage-listed region renowned for its port wines. Sample two award-winning local varieties, then take to the river on a cruise that allows you to admire the gorgeous views of the surrounding vineyards. At day’s end you’ll be returned to your accommodation at HF Ipanema Porto or similar where meals B and L are included.
Day 4 PORTO TO LISBON
Start the day with a private transfer from your accommodation to the train station. Enjoy stress-free travel as you take a high-speed train to Lisbon, ensuring a comfortable journey. Once in Lisbon, be met by your driver and head straight to your hotel. The remainder of the day is yours; take this opportunity to explore Lisbon independently and find out what it has in store for you! Meal(s): Breakfast, Accommodation: Hotel Britania or equivalent.
Day 5 LISBON HIGHLIGHTS
Take in the grandeur of Lisbon on a four-hour small-group tour of its iconic monuments and districts! Gather with your guide at the meeting point and explore Belém and Alfama to get a feel for the enchanting neighborhoods. Highlights include the Belém Tower, Jerónimos Monastery and church, both of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites, plus other significant sites. Breakfast is included during this excursion along with overnight accommodation at Hotel Britania or similar lodging in Lisbon.
Day 6 CASCAIS, ESTORIL & SINTRA
Come and explore the captivating sights of Portugal on a guided tour around Sintra, Cascais and Estoril from Lisbon. Start off by meeting your guide at the designated point in central Lisbon. Admire the magnificent vistas of Sintra Natural Park then have a look inside Pena National Palace. On the road back to Lisbon, drive along the coastline of Atlantic Ocean towards Cascais, a popular beach resort well known for its incredible sandy beaches and shores. A breakfast is provided during this experience as well as accommodation at Hotel Britania or similar in Lisbon.
Day 7 LISBON AT YOUR OWN PACE
Come and enjoy the beauty of Lisbon, Portugal. Whether you prefer to take things at your own pace or explore further afield with optional excursions, we are here to make it happen for you. We will plan an itinerary that fits whatever interests you may have.
Day 8 LISBON DEPARTURE
