Day 2 Lisbon
Begin your exploration of Lisbon in style by taking a ride on the city’s iconic tramcars. Afterwards, take the time to appreciate the beauty of Old Town Lisbon and don’t forget to stop by Jerónimos Monastery, a World Heritage-listed monument from the Age of Discovery. Built in 1502 by King Manuel I, this breathtaking structure serves as an ode to Vasco da Gama’s historic voyage to India.
Day 3 Lisbon, Sintra
Serra de Sintra will leave you awestruck with its rolling mountains visible from every direction. Make sure to visit King Ferdinand II’s impressive Park and Palace of Pena, before having the freedom to explore Sintra further. After lunch, take a leisurely coastal route back to Lisbon for your last night here. Consider trying out one of the delicious local restaurants for dinner; it will be the perfect end to your trip.
Day 4 Lisbon, Coimbra, Porto, Embark Ship
Get a taste of Portugal’s stunning countryside before turning your attention to the medieval city of Coimbra. This is where you’ll find its most famous university, so make sure to spend some time snapping pictures and exploring. Afterwards, it’s time for lunch and then on to Porto, where you’ll board your river ship for an illuminations cruise around the city. Enjoy a welcome dinner as you take in the views from the water – a perfect way to end your day!

Day 6 Porto, Guimarães, Entre-Os-Rios
You’re in for a treat today – an excursion to Guimarães! As you take the tour, get ready to witness history unfold before your eyes; from medieval settlement right up to the present day. Then, climb on board and set sail through the Douro Valley towards Entre-Os-Rios. There, pay a visit to Quinta da Avelada, a winery that has been providing delicious vintages since 1870s. Take a leisurely stroll around their gardens and then indulge in some wine and cheese tastings for the perfect end to your day.
Day 7 Régua
As the sun rises over Régua this morning, why not take a moment to bask in its glory? Once in town, be sure to make time for the Douro Museum. Here you can learn all about the fascinating culture of the Douro Valley wine region.
Day 8 Regua, Pinhão
Once you are done with your plans for the day, why not take a trip to the majestic Douro Valley and its spectacular gorges? The final stop of this incredible journey would be at Pinhão.
Day 9 Pinhão
For a glimpse into the lives of Portugal’s aristocracy, plan a visit to Palacio de Mateus near Vila Real. Erected in 1745, this monument provides an enchanting experience as you dine on board for the Captain’s Farewell Dinner.
Day 10 Barca d’Alva
As you explore the stunning town of Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo, one of the destinations is the awe-inspiring castle ruins. Later in the evening, savor a delectable dinner prepared for you as your mind wanders to distant Spain. Your last night aboard will undoubtedly be memorable.
Day 11 Barca d’Alva, Disembark Ship, Salamanca, Madrid
Your journey ashore begins at Barca d’Alva as you disembark the ship and leave life on board behind. Why not take a trip to Salamanca, a city steeped with ancient history? You can explore the University of Salamanca or admire the House of Shells before making your way to Madrid and your hotel.
