Day 1 Arrive Lisbon
Greetings and a warm welcome to Portugal! Once you’ve touched down in Lisbon, take the time to be brought to your hotel accommodation so you can get comfortable. Our reception gathering this evening is ideal for getting together with your tour mates.
Day 2 Lisbon
Start exploring the wonders of Lisbon by taking a ride on the iconic tramcars, and venturing through the historic Old Town. Next, spend some time admiring Jerónimos Monastery – a UNESCO World Heritage site which was commissioned in 1502 by King Manuel I to commemorate Vasco da Gama’s expedition to India. To end your day on a high note, join your fellow travellers for an evening of traditional Portuguese cuisine at a welcome dinner.
Day 3 Lisbon, Sintra
Serra de Sintra will take your breath away from the moment you arrive – the mountains extend in each direction, all with stunning panoramic views. Begin by exploring King Ferdinand II’s Park and Palace of Pena before taking a self-guided tour through Sintra. Once you’ve enjoyed lunch at your own pace, let the ocean breeze guide you back to Lisbon. For an unforgettable end to your stay, why not make dinner reservations at one of the area’s excellent restaurants?
Day 4 Lisbon, Coimbra, Porto, Embark Ship
Head out on a journey through Portugal’s beautiful countryside and then make your way to the historic city of Coimbra. Home to the nation’s most celebrated university, take some time for sightseeing and lunch before heading to Porto. Here, you will board a river ship together for an illuminations cruise around the city. Kick-off this adventure with a welcome dinner aboard your new floating home as you witness all that Porto has to offer from the best viewpoint imaginable!
Day 5 Porto
Today is the chance to do what strikes your fancy the most.
Day 6 Porto, Guimarães, Entre-Os-Rios
Head out to Guimarães for a journey through the ages. Take a tour to explore the evolution of medieval settlement and then sail through the picturesque Douro Valley on your way to Entre-Os-Rios. While there, be sure to visit Quinta da Avelada, which has been making wine in the region since 1870. Enjoy their serene gardens and cap off the day with some local cheese and vino.
Day 7 Régua
As you journey to Régua this morning, don’t forget to enjoy the pleasant sunshine. After your arrival, take the opportunity to explore and learn more about the culture of the Douro Valley wine region at the impressive Douro Museum.
Day 8 Régua, Pinhão
After your morning activity, kick back on board and continue cruising to Pinhão.
Day 9 Pinhão
For a unique cultural experience, consider traveling to the Palacio de Mateus in the area of Vila Real. This 18th century architectural masterpiece was masterfully crafted by Nicolau Nasoni. Interestingly enough, it is also immortalized on bottles of the well-known Mateus Rosé wine. To conclude your visit, you will be delighted with a special captain’s farewell dinner.
Day 10 Barca d’Alva
As you explore the captivating streets of Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo, be sure to take in the majestic castle ruins. Enjoying a flavorful meal afterwards while onboard, your last night will be full of unforgettable memories of Spain.
Day 11 Barca d’Alva, Disembark Ship, Salamanca, Madrid
Leaving the ship behind, it’s time to experience Barca d’Alva. Take a trip down to the historical city of Salamanca and explore its renowned University as well as the House of Shells. Once your sightseeing is done, make your way to Madrid for an overnight stay where you can do whatever your heart desires.
Day 12 Madrid
Before heading out to a delicious dinner at a restaurant in Spain’s capital city, why not explore the area?
Day 13 Madrid, Marseille, Arles, Embark Ship
Greet the beauty of France as you make your way to Marseille, where you will then travel to Arles and board the luxurious vessel that will take you on an enchanting cruise down the Rhône River.
Day 14 Arles
You have the opportunity to explore Arles as you stayed in the city overnight. Later on, why not take a tour of Arles and its ancient Roman sites? There is plenty for history buffs to marvel at.
Day 15 Avignon
As soon as you arrive in Avignon, it’s time to start planning your visit! Make sure that you take advantage of the afternoon byfitting some activities into your itinerary. The rest of the day can be spent however you choose.
Day 16 Viviers
Choose your sightseeing today.
Day 17 Tournon, Vienne
Choose your sightseeing, then later, cruise to Vienne.
Day 18 Belleville, Beaujolais Region
Make your choice for sightseeing today, and then indulge in a memorable Signature Experience later on.
Day 19 Lyon
Choose your preferred sightseeing.
Day 20 Lyon, Disembark Ship
The morning meal finished, it is time to take leave of your companions and disembark the vessel. A transfer from the ship is then arranged so that you can reach the airport in time for your flight.
